This episode begins to tell the story of my ancestral locations of significance, none as important as my birthplace, Washington DC! And yes, I mean the actual city…not somewhere out in the burbs trying to co-opt DC’s flava.
Most importantly, DC is where many of my relatives carved out their success and personal freedoms, which is what I’m celebrating in this video.

Episode three of your DNA journey is excellent work. You really capture the essence of your hometown, and mine, with the contrast between picture postcard, tourist, washington DC and its reality during the period of our formative years in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Looking forward to episode four.
